Say you’ll take me back.
I know – I disappeared. I didn’t tell you where I was going. I didn’t tell you when I’d be back. It was just something I had to do. You see – you’re so good for me, but I don’t know how to have just a little bit of you in my life. So I had to stop. I had to walk away. I had to make myself do other things.
…and for that –
But guess what – I’M BACK!
…and I have SO much to share!!!
Can you believe it’s been FOUR months since I blogged?! Insane, right! So much has changed since then and it seems only right that I give you an update on the good, the sad and everything in between. So sit back, scroll on and pop some popcorn for the next chapter in my life.
Let’s start with the sad… that way we can end on a positive. It’s hard to share so let’s just get this over with…
I said goodbye to a friend of 16 years on May 16. My little Roxy was so sweet and unbelievably loyal. It’s hard to believe I’ve had her for over half my life. I can’t even begin to say how much she is missed. Heaven is so very lucky to have her. Pardon my brevity on this topic – it’s still not easy to think my little Bink-Bink is gone. I know many of you loved her too. Such a sweet face – and a big heart to match.
Inhale… exhale… Okay – one more tough one –
Sly is no longer mine. He’s now giving lessons and being leased at a local barn. It was a tough decision, but one I had to make. I miss him… and I miss having that ‘outlet’ on a bad day. For those of you that ride, or have ever ridden, you know how therapeutic it can be. He was a cranky boy, but he was MY cranky boy. We didn’t always see eye to eye, but we found a way to make it work. I wish you luck Sylvester… and I miss you.
Okay – enough of all that before I have to take on Kleenex as a blog sponsor…
Let’s talk about all of the GREAT stuff that’s happened in the last four months.
Let’s make this short and sweet so we can get on to the REALLY big news at the end!
Wait – Who’s that?
I’m no longer a blonde! What!
Christy came to visit and helped me hold an epic yard sale. Three years of a hoarder blogger living under one roof… well let’s just say this girl amassed quite the pile! Special shout-out to the lady that single-handedly bought over 1/3 of my ENTIRE sale. (No joke – she made three trips with her minivan!)
Side-note – the picture above cracks me up. I look like a giant next to her!
Side-note 2 – we had matching Home Depot aprons to hold change, extra price stickers and sharpies. Same-Sames!
I took a much-needed week-long vacation with the Big Guy and two great friends.
…and a few other short trips along the way – Mom’s lake house for 4th of July, Big Guy’s hometown a couple times, Denver for a long weekend, Orlando and Jacksonville for a work conference and fun weekend… and there’s a chance I could be forgetting some places. This summer has FLOWN by.
But the REALLY big news….
That’s the reason why I had to disappear. You see – I’m a professional procrastinator. – and blogging is the perfect distraction. I had to focus on getting my house on the market and (hopefully) SOLD!
My house was on the market just under three weeks when I had my first offer. I’m happy to say that offer is still moving forward… and just this week I also received a backup offer. EEEEP! So it sounds like sooner or later (hopefully sooner than later) my house will be SOLD!
So where am I headed? Not far… just closer to all the fun stuff!
Will I buy? Not right now. I’ll rent for a year and see where I’m at next fall. I’m a little bummed to know I won’t be able to just whip out a crow bar and tear down some shelves or install board and batten on a whim… but I’m sure I’ll have more than enough projects to keep me busy! – and of course I’ll blog about everything along the way!
This week I’ll share a mini-house tour from when it was as clean as it’s ever been. Be warned – it’s not magazine ready… just home-buyer ready! (Because let’s be real – no one really LIVES in the rooms in those magazines)
You’ll see sneak peeks of project tutorials and updates to come. That’s right! Just because I wasn’t writing about my projects these past few months doesn’t mean I wasn’t taking pictures as I worked so I could share them with you later!
