I’m a single mom of 4… no, not kids…. 3 dogs and a horse!
My 15 year old Jack Russell, Roxy, has been there and done that. I swear she lives by the theory of “What doesn’t kill me, makes me stronger.” She’s been run over, kicked in the head by a cow, beat cancer, and much more. One tough cookie I say!
<– In this photo, Roxy was 12 years old. What a puppy face!
Ms. Roxy loves killing squeaky toys and chasing rabbits/squirrels. Most days she can be found napping and relaxing, preferably in the sun!
I’ve had my little “bink bink” since she was just a pup. I’ll never forget my Mom’s initial reaction when I came how with her as a kid. She took one look at that cute, non-Mom-approved puppy in my arms and said “Take it back!” After two weeks of “pleeeeease Mom” and “I swear I’ll do everything. You won’t have to do anything!” she finally caved. Thanks Mom! I think you know just how much this little girl means to me.
Emma’s my 3 year old Boxer and not a single day goes by that she doesn’t make me laugh. Such a ham! She’s 110% Diva and a total cuddler. Emma was just a pup when she first came to me. Let me tell you – she was SO-STINKING-CUTE!
<– In this photo, Emma was just 4 months old. Hard to believe I’ve had her for years already.
She loves long walks on the beach, sausage and taunting her dog-sisters. Emma battles some rather particular food allergies, which means no milk-bones, no rawhides… and if you ask her… none of the “good stuff”. This poor girl can’t even have bread or cheese without getting an upset tummy!
She plays hard and sleeps even harder. If you follow me on instagram, you’ll see more than your fair share of this cutie sleeping with her head propped up on pillows, couch arms and even her dog-sisters!
Quinn, my 2 year old chocolate lab, is the newest addition. She’s such a sweetheart and wants nothing more than to be near you. She and Emma play all day and are the best of friends.
We joke at work and say Quinn has never had a bad day. I think that’s a pretty accurate reflection of her personality. She’s ALWAYS happy! Remember Dug from the movie “Up”? Well that’s Quinn in a nutshell!
She loves carrying her bones and balls around, trying desperately to get someone to attempt to take it from her. She eats WAY too quickly and LOVES water.
My family knows better than to get me started about my dogs. I take way too many pictures and share way too many stories!
The last piece of my puzzle is Sylvester, a 10 year old Thoroughbred (former race horse). He’s my grumpy guy and I love him for it. He’s not short on personality… it’s just not a bubbly personality!
Sadly, I don’t see him as much these days. He is spending his time at a local Hunter-Jumper barn where he’s being loved on by little girls. While I miss him terribly, I know it’s the right situation for both of us right now. (did you know horses are expensive?!)
