I’ll be back tomorrow with a REALLY COOL thrift store upgrade. I found this surprise piece while thrifting with the awesome Kelly from live.laugh.rowe on Monday and got to work right away! I’m finishing it up tonight and taking photographs so I can reveal it tomorrow! Yay!

Crafted Niche readers… this post is WAY out of the ordinary for me, but I NEED YOUR HELP! It’s time to rally the troops ladies and gents!

…and I hope I don’t offend anyone by taking up “Crafted Niche Real Estate” with a post like this. I promise I won’t do this regularly… this is a VERY special request! …and that promise extends through the end of the year. You’ll never get a political campaign from this chick!

You guys all know I LOVE DOGS, and as I mentioned in a post earlier this week, I work for KolbeCo Marketing Resources as an Account Executive. One of the more unique aspects of my job is that I get to bring my dogs to work with me! (Yay!)   At KolbeCo, our dogs are very much a part of our culture, and that spills into our efforts within the community.

One of my coworkers, Erin, is a HUGE advocate for dog rescue and has fostered over 30 dogs in her time at KolbeCo through her volunteer work with Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

There’s a very special dog here at KolbeCo who has a VERY special place in many of our hearts -

Kiener

Don’t let the tie fool you – that boy knows how to have a GOOD time!

He’s a complete and total HAM. If you sing the “Kiener song” he’ll sing back and when you lay on the ground, he’ll lick you like crazy if you’ll let him. One big baby if you ask me!

His story will break your heart: Kiener is a Stray Rescue dog who was saved the day before he was scheduled to be euthanized! He came to Stray Rescue with a shattered hip and broken femur and had blunt force trauma to his face (likely a 2×4 or heavy chain). Stray Rescue saved his leg and paid for an eye specialist. Kiener became a permanent member of the KolbeCo Board of Dogrectors in Sept of 2009!  He spends his days socializing in our office and entertaining the many foster dogs he shares his space with.

What I need you to do:

Kiener’s been nominated for Best Agency Dog Award by The Agency Post.  As of now, he’s not winning.  Sigh. Sad face… and maybe a tear…
